There was a time when life was simple, a time when one only had to worry about what to wear in the morning or what they were going to do that day. A time when the air rose calm and refreshing, bringing promises of a brighter future. That time was long gone. Gone were the days of having a worry-free day, of living life without fearing death every day. And yet, life had gone on. There was no succumbing to the horrors that surrounded them on daily basis. There was still that urge to live no matter what happened.

Loinnir sat on the edge of the bed, slender finger deftly moving the blade of the knife along the sharpening stone. He was killing time while waiting for his brother to return from wherever he had gone. He hadn't asked and he didn't particularly care. His brother was his own man and could do what he want. Besides, he had things to do such as sharpening the weapons and making sure everything was in shape. It wouldn't due to be caught with ineffective equipment. A properly sharp dagger could be the difference between life and death in this job.

The pale haired man looked up at the sound of car, eyes following the shine of headlights through the blinds that were pulled tightly shut. It sounded like his brother was here which meant that soon it would be time to eat before a night's rest and then they would hit the road again onto their next job.

Carter pulled up into the motel that him and his little brother were staying at, he went out to grab some food for the both of them. The older of the two boy's noticed that the younger male has been acting strange ever since that... Accident had occurred. He released a sigh as he turned off his radio and killed his engine, turning off the headlights before he stepped out of his nice old 1968 firebird. He looked her over once and smiled lovingly at the car. He then grabbed the food out from the passenger side and closed his car door with his hip.

He walked casually up to the room that they were staying at knocking on the door with the front of his back tennis shoe. "Hey Loinny open the door! I have my arms full of food and drinks!" He said loudly through the door taking a deep breath. His stomach was growling like crazy causing the older male to groan lowly.

Loinnir set aside the knife and the whetstone before he stood to walk over to the door, bristling a little at the nickname. He picked through the hole in the door before opening it so Carter could come in. His eyes slipped over the food in Carter's hand as he shut the door and locked it. He helped Carter with the food, not wanting to let it drop on the floor and make a mess.

"Think you got enough?" he said teasingly with a smile at his older brother as he set the drinks down on the night stand before sitting down on the bed, sitting cross-legged on it. He pulled over one of the fast-food bags and popped a french fry into his mouth. "Thanks for the meal."

Carter rolled his eyes as he let out a sarcastic laugh, "Haha very funny! Just be happy I bought you food! And your welcome..." he said with his sarcastic tone of voice before he sat down on his own bed with the other bag in his hand. He opened it up and grabbed a burger from it, unwrapping it and taking a bite out. His eyes scanned the room to make sure nothing had followed them in there and was thankful that nothing did. "So... What were you doing in here while I was gone..." he asked while taking his drink off of the table and sipping through the straw. He placed it back down taking another bite out of his food.

Loinnir took his own burger and took a small bite of it before answering his brother. "I've been sharpening our items," he said with a soft smile at his brother, ignoring the sarcastic comments. To live with his brother peacefully one had to learn to ignore some of the tones and the comments. Plus, 18 years of it and one just kind of got used to it. "And I have gone through to make sure we have enough variety of bullets, and have set up the supplies needed to keep us from dying while driving tomorrow."

The older of the two boy's nodded his head placing his unfinished burger in the bag and taking out a napkin from the bag rubbing his hands clean before he reached into the front of his tight black pants pockets taking out a piece of paper that had their next gig. He unfolded it and coughed before he read the headline. "A Death to remember....

On November 2nd a body was found head down in a neighbors pool... Locals say that the young 29 year old man committed suicide in the neighbors pool after him and said neighbor got into a fight..." Carter looked up from the newspaper clipping and handed it over to Loinnir. "Here take a look... It may seem like suicide to the naked eye but take a closer look at the man's back..." he said pointing to said man's back. On his back there was these strange claw like markings that had ripped the back of the man's shirt. "Tell me I found something Loinny..."

Loinnir rolled his eyes at the nickname, but he took the paper to look at the picture. "People like to overlook the obvious," he said softly, eyes slipping over the claw marks on the victim's back before he handed back the newspaper and popped another french fry into his mouth before taking a sip of his drink. "I want to get in there and see the marks for myself and see why they labeled it a suicide when it clearly isn't."

His mind was already working in overdrive, running through a possibility of creatures that might be responsible for the death of the man.

Carter noticed the excitement in his little brother's eyes which was unusually to see that, but he shrugged it off as nothing and took the newspaper clipping back and stuffed it in his pocket before reaching in and grabbing his burger out finishing it and moving on to his fries. "I wonder if dad's out there looking for that demon..." he said after he had swallowed his food down and taking a sip of his drink. The mere thought of dad had his blood boil slightly, but he knew that he had to watch out after his little brother and do exactly what his father told him to do and that was to protect the innocent and kill demons. It was his job and his life style, he just wasn't quite sure if this is the life style his little brother wants.

Suddenly he didn't feel quite that hungry anymore, he the got up and placed his bag on the night stand and stood up stretching out his back and sighed as he heard some cracks coming from it. "Well I'm going to take a bath so... Be a good boy and stay..." he said with a joking tone in his voice as he walked away towards the bathroom.

Loinnir arched an eyebrow as he watched his brother put up the food. His brother normally ate everything handed his way. "Have fun," he said with a smile at Carter's announcement, ignoring the comment on being a good boy and staying put. Where was he going to go? As his brother walked off, he finished his own burger and fries before throwing the bag away and finishing his drink. Once he was done, he stood and flicked off all but one lamp and slid out of the majority of his clothes before plopping on the bed and turning on the television. He left the lamp on on reflex, and so Carter wouldn't bump into anything after the shower.

Carter stripped his clothing off and walked over towards the shower, he turned it on and stepping in not really caring a whole lot that the water was cold he was to lost in his thought's to even noticed. All his life his father has told him over and over again to watch out after Loinnir and take care of him. And he has done so after that horrible night which he remembers quite clearly even though he was only two back then he still remembered the house burning down to the ground and his father telling him to protect his brother no matter what. And half of his life he had done what his father told him too. He banged his hand against the wall not really caring about the pain that now flowed through it.

'Damn him! Why did he leave us! And he's not even picking his phone up! No matter how many times I call him...' Carter's eyes narrowed slightly but he shook his head trying to calm himself down, and he did. The water felt so good on his pale skin that it made him shiver.

Loinnir frowned slightly as he heard a bang from the bathroom and he slid off the bed, quietly walking over and into the bathroom. He pulled back the curtain slightly, concerned that his brother had hurt himself. "Are you all right?" he asked softly. He hadn't heard the words that Carter had spoken, but he could see that Carter was upset. "Do not give me any answer other than 'no'," he warned.

Carter sighed shaking his head causing water to spray everywhere, he racked his finger's through his wet hair turning off the shower and stepping out pushing his brother over to the side. He walked over to a towel rack and taking a towel down wrapping it around his waist, his body was still dripping wet just like his hair that was clanging to his face and neck. "I'm fine Loinnir really..." his voice was slightly harsh as he was cradling his left hand to his chest walking out of the bathroom and into the motels cool air. He walked over towards a drawer below the tv and bent down opening up the drawer and taking out a nice clean pair of black boxers.

Loinnir watched Carter get out of the shower, managing to keep from glancing over his brother's body. This was made easier at his brother's tone and he bristled in anger as he followed out of the bathroom.

"Fine, Carter. You go right ahead pretending everything is peachy," he said, tone snappy and filled with irritation as he walked past his brother changing, grabbing his jacket and pulling it on. He was tired of this, tired of his brother's attitude. He had to get out of the hotel room. "If you decide you're done being an ass, you'll find me out walking," he added before leaving the room, shutting the door loudly behind him as he left. He zipped up his jacket against the cool air, still irritated as he started to walk down the sidewalk. He hoped the cool air would calm him down.

Carter winched when he heard the door slam behind the younger male, he sighed as he pulled on his boxers and dried off the rest of his body including his hair. He had a frown marring his face while he did so. He knew his brother was right, he was being an ass but how was he suppose to react when their father hasn't even made contact with either one of them. He huffed while he slid on his tight form fitting black long sleeved shirt and tight form fitting jeans on. He walked over to his bed falling back on his bed closing his eyes. He was going to give Loinnir some time to cool off so he started to drift slowly into a light sleep.

Loinnir found a small park on his walk and he sat down on a swing, resting his head against a chain that held the chair and he moved himself a little bit on the swing. He sighed softly as he did so. He knew Carter was irritated at their father and he understood why Carter would be mad at the man. The man hadn't answered any of their calls over the last few weeks and Carter had been closer to their father than he had been so of course he was going to be mad. He just wished that his brother would stop with the tones towards him. It wasn't like he could do anything about it, or could have done anything about it.

The long-haired male leaned back, fingers grasping the cold chains of the swing and he looked up at the moon that had risen into the sky. He soon started to swing, enjoying the feeling of the air rushing by him. He could spend hours doing that and he probably would. It was nice to do something so innocent again. It would be nice to share the moment with his brother, but Carter never seemed interested in things like this. So much for doing brotherly things together, or any other thing that was quite considered brotherly....He kept up the swinging even as he thought. He hated the duel attraction he felt with his brother, but he couldn't do anything about it and he couldn't bring it up....

Even though he had his eyes closed he was not even close to being in a deep sleep. His mind was lingering on all the time he had with the younger boy. He remember Loinnir would follow him around every where he went. It would always bring a smile at his face when his little brother would ask questions, he was so cute and innocent when he would look up and ask him. He remember at one point in his life he felt the need to... Well do stuff to the boy. Stuff that brother's shouldn't even be thinking about doing but the feelings were there. And as he watched him grow the feelings became much more serious.

So when Loinnir left home to go to collage he was glad that he was gone, and he hoped the feelings would disappear along with him. But that didn't happen! Oh no his feelings grew deeper and much more erratic that every time he ever thought of him his body would react. And now it was getting worse. That's why he's been harsh to him and sarcastic with him, it was to hide his true, sick impure feelings. He groaned lowly placing his arm over his face while he left his other arm resting on his stomach.

Loinnir stopped his swinging after only a few minutes because he was getting chilled and he quietly headed to the apartment. He walked inside and shut the door, trying to be quiet in case Carter was awake. He hung up his jacket before slipping out of his jeans that he had hastly pulled on before he climbed on top of his bed, pulling up the covers around him to keep back the chill to watch television, not wanting to wake his brother and not entirely in the mood to deal with him right now.

Carter rolled over on his side away from his brother, he could feel his pants tighten and he froze. He could not believe this was happening to him. He squeezed his eyes tightly trying to calm down but his damn body wouldn't let him. His legs shifted, rubbing against each other trying to relieve the tension that was now happening in his jeans. 'Please go away please go away...' he repeated over and over in his head. He did not... He will repeat himself... He did not want to relieve himself while the younger boy was in the room. And said younger boy was the cause of his uneasiness at the moment. 'Why couldn't he have been out longer...' he thought sadly to himself as a frown now crossed over his face.

Loinnir glanced over at his brother as his brother rolled over and he slid off of the bed to gently pull the covers up over his brother, eyes focused on his brother's face. His fingers just lightly brushed Carter's arm as he pulled away. His brother wasn't asleep, but obviously didn't want to be bothered so he kept quiet as he turned to go back to his own bed.

Carter's hand shot up and gripped Loinnir's wrist pulling the younger boy down on the bed with him. "Don't... Leave..." he whispered in a slightly husky voice as he then wrapped his arms around his brother's waist. He then moved closer to him rubbing his lower area up against his butt. "Loinnir..." he groaned lowly in the younger males ear in a very seductive tone of voice.

Loinnir blushed dark at being pulled down and then the movements of Carter. His breath caught in the back of his throat as his hands tightened on his brother's arms, unable to stop the shiver that ran through him. He hadn't been expecting this, expecting his brother to share similar thoughts to his. "C-Carter," he whispered, body pressing back his brother's in response to the surge of emotions.

Carter groaned even more as he moved his hips some more causing a shallow breath escape from his lips, his hot breath hit the younger males neck. "You see what you do to me..." his voice was low and husky. In the back of his mind he knew this was wrong and impure but his body was reacting completely differently. His arms tightened around Loinnir's waist as he moved his lips to the younger males neck kissing and licking it lightly. I should really stop this... This is wrong... He's my brother for crying out loud! he thought to himself as he continued on kissing and sucking on his little brother's neck. For some strange reason his mind and body were on two different tracks. His body wasn't listening to what his mind was saying.

Loinnir shivered at the touches on his neck, a blush creeping back into his face at the feelings they caused. He shouldn't be responding back, but he was. His mind was torn two ways, one way with his body and the other saying this shouldn't happen. They were related....His hands tightened on Carter's arm and he shivered again, pressing back against his brother once more...He soon found himself rolling over to face his brother, fingers ever so lightly trailing down his brother's sides, stroking the soft skin. He should have pulled away instead of rolling over, but his body didn't want to...he didn't want to. He had slid closer to his brother when he had rolled over, body pressed close to his brother's, everywhere feeling as if on fire wherever they touched.

The older male froze when he felt his brother move closer to him and he also froze when he felt the younger's hands running up his sides. His mind and body were finally on the same page, he pulled away quickly causing himself to fall off of the bed and onto the floor. His legs were still on the bed but his body was on the floor. He groaned in pain due to the tightness of his pants and when his head hit the carpet floor. "Shit..." he hissed lowly in his throat as he realized what he almost did. "Uh... Loinnir... We will never speak of this again alright?" his voice was low, he closed his eyes feeling shame wash over him.

Loinnir frowned slightly as Carter pulled back suddenly and he quickly got up to look down at his brother, pale hair falling down around him as he surveyed his brother with worry. "Are you okay?" he asked softly, a slight frown slipping over his face at the words and the look on his brother's face. He sighed inwardly, sitting up fully on the bed. "All right...we won't talk about it," he added, brushing his hair out of his way before slid off of the bed to move to his own, figuring Carter was fine given he could talk just well. He couldn't help but be a little put off by the attitude now, but if his brother wanted to pretend like nothing happened then so be it. He wasn't going to deal with any thoughts regarding the matter right now.
