Tetsuya Shida, is a man who takes pride in his profession and seems to be fulfilled by his work. Those are attributes that the ambitious Oumi are recently lacking. Captivated by the happy expression that the normally scary-looking tailor shows every once in a while, the costumer feels a sense of attraction towards Tetsuya. Unable to forget the quiet smile of the shop’s owner, Jouno Oumi finds himself back on Shida’s doorstep sooner than expected.
This is the beginning of a blooming relationship between a hardworking, obstinate designer and a affectionate tailor with grave appearance.

Joou to Shitateya scores with smooth storytelling, a endearing couple and nice artwork. Just as in her other works, Scarlet Beriko skillfully broke the rule of the stereotype uke-seme-roles which i like so much about her art. In my opinion, compared to her other stories, this manga feels more calm and mature. Might be because of it’s focus on the development of the main characters relationship and their feelings towards each other rather than on the sexy parts. (It isn’t bad though because it brings a breath of fresh air into her collection.)
If you fancy reading something romantic with a few dramatic events and a satisfying happy end, then give this beautiful manga, which can definitely be counted to Scarlet Beriko’s great works, a try 😉
