What a cute movie! I dare to say that The Way He Looks is so much better than many LGBTQ movies.

Originally The Way He Looks was a short film titled I Don’t Want to Go Back Alone released back in 2010. Actually the short didn’t make such an impression on me, perhaps because I watched it after the movie, but what I can say is that I am glad someone decided to develop the idea. In the short we only get a glimpse of the characters while in the movie they are much more complex, and with each scene they seem to grow even more.

This movie is basically about Leo’s journey and discovering himself, breaking free, and daring to want more and to do more. He does that with the help of his best friend, Giovanna (in a way), but also with the help of Gabriel, who sends an army of new feelings over Leonardo.

And I must say that the line Leo, if you had ever stolen a kiss from someone, how would you give it back? is such a great one, but more than that I really liked the answer. If you are in the mood for a cute movie, The Way He Looks is the right choice.
